Project Description

A social system of rights and duties based upon land tenure and personal relationships which flourished in Europe between the 9th and 15th centuries. Land, owned by lords, was held in fiefs by vassals. In exchange for the use of the fief and the protection of the lord, the vassal would provide specific services to the lord.

Project Guidelines

    • Answer the historical question: "How did feudalism develop in Western Europe?"
    • Create a Powerpoint, Keynote, or Prezi presentation that is no less than six and no more than eight slides (including cover slide and citation page).
    • Include the following: One historically relevant map with description, three art objects that are connected to your findings, and two primary source documents that support/coincide with your conclusions.
