Project Description

The Parables Project

You will have the opportunity to examine a parable from the Synoptic Gospels and research it thoroughly.  You will interpret the text in its original context, and, in trying to "recapture the original impact," make the parable "meaningful in our modern context."  This project has three parts: 1.) Choose a parable that interests you and write a two-page essay using no resources except the text; 2.) Provide a typed MLA-formatted bibliography of at least 3-4 credible sources using books and databases from our library; 3.) Present your own contemporary interpretation of the parable using a form that is authentic to you.  This guide will primarily address Part 2 of the project.   Do not hesitate to ask a librarian or or your teacher for help along the way.  Enjoy the journey!
