Project Description

Good researchers use a variety of types of resources and take good notes in order to avoid plagiarism. To set up the framework for the paper, you may find it helpful to begin the research with 1 or more books. Then move on to the sources you find under the books, databases, and website tabs above. Finally, cite your sources using Noodle Tools as you gather the information.

You will be creating a Wikipedia-style article for this research assignment. A Wikipedia-style article has a particular format that makes it easier for the reader to understand the topic. You will need to make sure that your article clearly explains the topic and utilizes the same stylistic elements found on Wikipedia.

At the top of every Wikipedia article is a symbol. For this assignment, you should include a symbol that represents your topic and a title for your “website.” Be creative and think of a historical reference for the website, but it must end in “-pedia.” You May Not use your first or last name for the title of your article (see my example).

Here are the elements that you should include in your article:

  • A title
  • Introduction
  • Section headings
  • Body paragraph 1
  • Body paragraph 2
  • Conclusion
  • One image of the symbol that represents your topic (you will have to cite the source for the picture)
  • In-text citations

Requirements:

  • You will write at least 1½, but no more than 2-pages to answer the question that you chose.  DO NOT print final assignment front-to-back
  • A minimum of three sources from the LibGuide, must be used for research
  • You will have to use Noodle Tools to create a Works Cited page to cite your sources.
  • You have to take bulleted notes from the sources that you use for your research.
  • The focus of your article should be on how Americans were affected by the war, not people in other countries

Format

·         Calibri font

·         12 point

·         Double-spaced**

·         One inch margins top, bottom, left, and right

·         Use in-text citations to identify your sources
